Zombie Nation is Ready to Launch Open Alpha on April 22nd

Kyle
Chief of Staff

As someone who has spent months advising and befriending the talented team behind Zombie Nation, I can attest to the fact that what they’re building is a gamer's fantasy come true.

If you're a fan of first-person shooters, you'll immediately appreciate the expertise that has gone into crafting this game. You’ll also be blown away by the attention to detail and incredible passion that the Soulspring team has poured into Zombie Nation. Contrary to the name, Zombie Nation is a living, breathing world - and what this team is building is just begging to be experienced by all of us.

The Team Behind Zombie Nation

With over 13 years of collective experience in game development, the team has crafted a game that truly feels like a triple-A title from Infinity Ward (developers of the Call of Duty franchise).

I personally come from the golden era of Call of Duty, with countless hours spent playing CoD 2 professionally and CoD 4 casually at LAN parties. I even had the opportunity to represent Malta at various international eSports events and tournaments. Suffice to say, I really, really enjoy a good first-person shooter.

That’s why I love Zombie Nation, because it reminds me of that satisfying feeling that the old school Call of Duty games gave you. The thrill, the skill, the kills - it’s all there.

The game is unbelievably responsive to the point that you can even quickscope - which, in my opinion, is the only way to earn the right to teabag your enemy.

Zombie Nation's visuals are also top-notch, making full utilization of Unreal Engine’s top-tier graphics and multiplayer infrastructure.

The game's dynamic weather system and stunning views across all maps make for an unforgettable immersive experience, and brings to life a world filled with death.

Non-Fungible Innovations

What ultimately sets Zombie Nation apart from other first-person shooters is its innovative use of NFT drops.

The game will offer a multitude of NFTs that can be used across a multiverse of games, thanks to the implementation of MyMetaverse’s innovative cross-game platform.

Realistically speaking, a game with as many NFT drops as Zombie Nation can only be done on Redlight’s gasless blockchain. That’s why, thus far, we have seen nothing exactly like it in the Web3 space.

With Redlight Chain and MyMetaverse, NFT loot drops can be used to build strong player engagement like never before - without costing the developers anything to send. This is a huge advantage for studios and it’s exactly why Redlight’s business development is scaling up so rapidly right now.

Game Modes

Launching in April

Base Assault

In the Base Assault game mode, players will fight for control over three strategic points within Scarlet City's map. Two teams, the Survivor team and the Bandit team, must battle it out to control the points - with the team that holds them the longest ultimately coming out on top and securing victory.

Free-For-All

In the Free-For-All mode, the goal is to gather as many kills as possible which are ultimately converted into points. The player with the most points at the end of the match wins. There are no teams in this mode, it’s just you against the world. Bring your A game.

Team Deathmatch

Team Deathmatch works like Free-For-All but you are actually a part of a team this time around. The team with the most kills (and therefore points) at the end of the match, wins. Will your team’s tactics reign supreme?

In Development

Bounty Hunter

In Bounty Hunter, the goal is to down players of the opposing team and collect the dog tags they drop when downed. If you manage to collect your downed teammate’s dog tag before the other team, you can deny them points and assert true dominance. Campers beware.

Rush

In Rush, the goal is to either destroy or defend the objectives that the game gives you. If the attacker team runs out of reinforcements, the defender team wins and vice-versa. This will be a very strategic game mode that will take coordination with your team to come out victorious.

Zombie Royale

Finally, my favourite game mode in the development pipeline is one that I have personally dreamed up and pitched to the Soulspring Studios team - Zombie Royale. Yes, of course I’m biased…but with good reason. This Battle Royale mode has a thrilling zombie twist that will keep you at the edge of your seat through the entire match. But that's not all - Zombie Royale is the perfect solution to many issues that plague current Battle Royale games such as Fortnite, Warzone, and Player Unknown Battlegrounds. Having the added element of surviving against brain-devouring zombies while fighting other players will provide endless hours of new situations and unlock a far more dynamic gaming experience than any Battle Royale to date. Yes, you will be able to play as a zombie, but with a twist.

With Zombie Royale, you'll enjoy a completely fresh gaming experience that I wholeheartedly believe will set a new standard within the industry itself.

What’s Next?

In short, the future looks incredibly bright and I can barely contain my excitement. It’s clear that what is being built here is being done with an undying love of Zombie shooters and action-packed gameplay, and this team is laser-focused on delivering something amazing that merges the mechanics we love with exciting new concepts and the unlimited potential unlocked by Redlight Chain’s gasless architecture.

Zombie Nation is just the beginning of an impressive lineup of games that will showcase the unparalleled technology of the Redlight blockchain and ecosystem. Personally, being involved in the development of Zombie Nation has been an absolute honour and humbling experience, and I cannot wait to share and experience more with all of you.

So, mark your calendars for April 22nd, get ready to forget your lives and wives and be prepared to lose yourself in an undead world that will leave you begging for more.
